Chemmis
The capital city of The East, and its primary hub of trade, science, and culture. It also serves as the industrial capital of Noumentas, and is its largest city.
Built on the site of the ancient, destroyed city of Athens, the Chemmians avoid the irradiated wastes below in skyscrapers and winding spires that stretch hundreds of meters into the air.

Defences
The city is build in the middle of the Eastern wastes, and as such, it is surrounded by harsh desert. Its inhabitants are all capable of flight, and so all architecture is designed for entry and exit far above the ground. These environmental obstacles are enough to make Chemmis one of the best defended cities in the realm.
Infrastructure
There are no physical streets in Chemmis, though skyways are designated to direct traffic between buildings. Some facilities offer limited ground-dweller services such as bridges, elevators, and skywalks. However, Chemmis has an over 99% flight rate, of which more than 70% is inborn rather than mechanical or acquired. Thus these accommodations are rare and mostly limited to tourist areas. Taxi services are ubiquitous-- if pricey-- but offer an alternative to personal flight for ground-dwellers.

Architecture
The city is known for its sterile white steel and glass structures, characterized by curves, spheres, and "flying saucers." Their bright green gardens extend from balconies, and greenhouses abound, bringing dense pockets of color to the otherwise colorless cityscape.
Inside, many buildings choose wall-to-wall screens for art, communication, and entertainment. In general, public buildings embrace the minimalist, clean style seen in the architecture in their interiors.
