Mythic Leopards

Mythic Ice

The Mythic Ice is a curious place of powerful magic, a large frozen tundra isolated from the rest of the world. A place where dreams and lost thoughts wander and the iridescent snowflakes of fate float forever never touching the ground. The magic that covers the land from an aurora borealis known as the Mystic Lights, that appears throughout the day and night. Forces all who inhabit the frozen land to adapt or die. Those who live here have to survive strong cold physic winds that leave travelers mentally disorientated , a never ending winter , and strange creatures that have changed due to the magical influence.   Mythic Leopards are an example of one of these creatures, far away from civilization these felines rule over a large portion of the mythic ice.

Basic Information

Anatomy

bMythic Leopards have the bodies of large snow leopards, with antlers resembling those of a reindeer's. Their antlers usually don't grow in until they reach 5 yrs of age. They shed their antlers every 2 years and it takes a full year for their new ones to grow back. So there are times when it is very common to see groups of these leopards with out antlers.

Genetics and Reproduction

bThese leopards are capable of having 2-4 cubs at a time, typical pregnancy's last roughly 3 months, and they mate during 3 out of the 6 months of winter they experience in the Mythic Ice. They become fully mature at the age of 5 and travel in packs of 15-20 usually all relatives of some sort. If a stray cub is found from another pack , more often than not the cub is taken into the new pack and raised as it's own. It is seldom a full grown Mythic leopard attacks or goes out of it's way to harm a young cub regardless where it belongs. This behavior seems to prove their is some importance placed on young with-in their history that makes this such a strong natural instinct.

Behaviour

bMythic Leopards are extremely emotionally intelligent creatures,
  • They mate for life.
  • They are capable of feeling remorse and grief.
  • They are capable of forming grudges.
  • They are extremely protective of their pack members and cubs.
  • Very territorial and aggressive towards others outside their pack.
bMythic leopards are very caring towards pack members and family. The most vulnerable members like elders , cubs and those going through the year long journey of growing their antlers back. Are protected and cared for the most, the weak don't get left behind. Which in the end seems to only make them stronger, as one of mythic leopard's greatest advantages is their power in numbers.     bThese creatures hunt in large groups of 5-6, overwhelming their prey. They'll eat anything they can get their paws on. Including : Yaks, Reindeer, Elk, Hares, fish and of course people if given the opportunity. They tend to go for bigger meals as they have a lot of mouths to share their food with.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

bThese creatures have the ability to sense emotions of beings within a 50ft radius around them. They quite literally can sense fear, they use this ability to sneak up and hunt their prey. Once a Mythic leopard has chosen it's victim it becomes extremely difficult to loose. They are relentless and masters of stealth , once you notice one of these beast it's already too late. As it charges it's victims antlers first , injuring their prey to the point they stay down as they feed off them with their razor sharp teeth.
