October 22nd

The party spends the day scouting the land between them and Orc Hill when they notice several warbands starting to gather just outside the ruined Orc fort. As the day progresses, the orcs begin to move south towards them. At night fall, they have stopped just an hour away from the party and their army. The party devises a plan to ambush the orcs in the middle of the night; they split their forces, taking all of the archers but leaving most of the infantry behind to prevent the orcs from rushing passed them.   In the dead of night, the party splits their smaller force again, putting their main force on the opposite side of the river with Arya and Ellie hiding on the side of the orcs. Their attempts at stealth, however, are not quite successful and the orcs become aware of them before they can do any real damage. In anger, the orcs start rushing across the river, becoming easy targets for the Wood Elf archers who slaughter an entire warband before they can reach land. Unfortunately, there are too many orcs and they make landfall, causing the death of the 6 infantry that joined the party before they can be taken down. On the other side of the river, Arya and Ellie wreak havoc on the Orc casters that were trying to support their brethren.   At the end of the battle, the party decides to pollute the water and put all of the Orc corpses in the river after scavenging some worn weapons and gold from them. The party earmarks 50 gold to give to the elves as recompense for their sacrifice. The elves then gather their dead while the party binds the Orc chieftain that they let live. To be safe, he is bound tightly with manacles, rope, and several nets. They begin the bittersweet journey back to their main force and camp, where they plan to question the chieftain.
