Lanys T'Vyl
Daughter of Hate
Lanys T'Vyl is known as the Daughter of Hate and the goddess of envy. She is the daughter of the Prince of Hate, Innoruuk, and was raised to a demigod following her role in the battle of Kithicor Forest. She is known to be particularly calculating in her cruelty.
History
She was born to a priestess in Neriak, fathered by the Prince of Hate, Innoruuk during the Age of Turmoil. His plans were to use her as an avatar to strengthen the influence of hate throughout Norrath. For the most part, Lanys has been a success in that respect. She has been responsible for countless vile acts when not thwarted by her rival, the Champion of Tunare, Firiona Vie. Lanys was successful in sacking the Elf outpost of Kunark, leaving the good-natured races of the world without a safe haven on that volatile continent. Years earlier, she and her mentor, Laarthik K'Shin, led an assault on the fort of High Pass. Their goal was to claim the highly important northern trade route between Qeynos and Freeport. The attempt was unsuccessful and Lanys would have perished in the war, which became known as Bloody Kithicor, but her father intervened. Innoruuk opened a portal from his realm in the Plate of Hate and abducted Lanys, saving her from certain death. Innoruuk gave her several tasks to prove her worth to him. One such task, trying to create the Staff of Malevolence, resulted again in her near death. She was thwarted by another one of Innoruuk's creations, Mayong Mistmoore the first Vampire. This time, Innoruuk not only saved her, but rose her to demigod status. Over the years, Lanys traveled back and forth from the Plate of Hate to Norrath many times. Some tales tell of a time when she sought to seal her father from the mortal realm. This had led some to believe that she has fallen from the favor of Innoruuk and no longer welcome in the Plate of Hate. If she were banished to Norrath, she would surely seek revenge on Mayong Mistmoore.Followers
The Cult of Envy, made entirely of Dark Elves, maintains a temple fortress in the Rathe Mountains dedicated to the Lady of Envy. There are those who would follow her that instead follow Innoruuk, in case the rumors of her betrayal are true and fearing the wrath of the Prince of Hate.Lineage
