Wist Worn
Emile hunkered from the storm, and prayed for the gods to send rain. The wind was blowing strong, a continuous blast emanating from the heart of the storm, threatening to blow down the house above him.
He was sitting alone in his cellar, safe from the beasts and whipping energy above, but it would not hold. If something found its way down here, or the floor above him tore away, or gods forbid the storm passed directly over him. He would be done.
He was the only one who had made it here in time. The subtle nature of the storm was hard to see coming, and it rolled in quickly once it could be seen, tendrils of shocking light crashing down from the sky like a vindictive bolt of lightning.
The creaking of the building above him reached a crescendo, and the entire structure was lifted off the ground. Exposed to the shattered rainbow sky above him, Emile felt his entire existence begin to warp.
The wind lifted him from the ground, and he was flung high into the sky. Up there, far beyond anything else, the wist sunk into his bones and scoured his soul, until it was as smooth as a stone in a river.
The storm subsided, as all storms did, and he was still there.
When he descended, his existence had settled, and his mind had been forever changed. He was subdued, simplified, and all of his quirks were missing. His memories remained, so he could remember being the person before, but he no longer felt like the person he remembered being was him.
Transmission & Vectors
Wistorms, or possibly another form of high concentration undefined wist saturating the human body with enough wist to affect the natural shape and form of their soul.
Causes
When a large amount of shapeless wist floods the body, it dilutes the essence and form of the natural wist, spreading the traits and texture thin.
Symptoms
Subdued emotions, a weakness of the mind. A frailty of Wisthread.
Treatment
There is no treatment available, as the form one's wist takes is unique, and therefore once changed cannot be supplemented back to its natural form.
Prevention
Avoidance is key. Wistorms are impossible to stop, but standard methods of diversion do exist on the small scale.
