Second Book update

Greetings reader, I am happy to share with you that I am now at 30,000 words, almost to the half way point!

Since my last update I had some rocky moments with characters and pushing through feeling discouraged about certain aspects of the story. With a lot of praying for wisdom and looking at certain scenes and characters from different angles I was able to smooth things over and get moving again.

I've been thinking of how the Amercian culture seems to love the phrase, write the next great American novel. I quickly looked up who sparked that idea. It was started by a Civil War novelist by the name of John William De Forest. We can each agree that there are many great novels out there by Amercians that have touched our hearts and we enjoy returning to when we get a chance. But truly, writing a novel is not as easy as snapping your fingers! It takes courage to share your thoughts and ideas, focus to keep going even when you feel like everything that can go awry has gone awry, and patients as it may take a significant amount of time to put together a book, then, sit down again and with sweat and determination, edit and polish until it shines.

I don't think I will write the next great American novel, nevertheless I want to write a story that captures your imagination and leaves you inraptured even after you read the last page and close the book.
