Hector

Hector, First to Question

***This article is an incomplete placeholder to be expanded on later***
Hector was born as a second generation Ehrlen, old, but not among the first Risen. As he grew older, the curiosity granted to him through childhood never slowed nor ceased, but grew as the years went on. Among the first Risen it was almost considered heresy to speak out or question the will of the gods, to which he replied "Why?" When answered with 'Because the Gods will it,' he would answer yet again, "Why?". Many didn't accept what they claimed to be disrespect to the god's wishes, and exiled him from the tribes in Mahangagahere. He ended up settling in what would eventually become Ignosi, one of the twin capitals of Vasileio. The gods tried to pay him no mind as he preached and respected the free will of the Risen. He quickly amassed a following of freethinkers and philosophers, eventually reaching a point to which the gods recognized him and gave him the secrets of Ascension, raising him to godhood as a paragon of Knowledge

Appearance and Depictions

Hector bears the appearance of an elderly Ehrlen, being well on in his years at the time of his ascension to godhood. A practiced skinwalker in his previous jungle life, he wore the feathers of a Jungle Owlet to take it's form, which transferred well over into his form as a god. An elderly man with soft, wrinkled features and a bit of a hunchback, Hector is shave completely bald except for the sparse feathers that riddle the back of his skull and move down to long owl wings sprouting from his arms. A scraggly black beard adorns his chin, along with several tattoos on the rest of his body. He wears a simple white toga and no weapons. Emblems depicting his worship will be portrayed by an owl with a tree growing out of the top of it's skull. Commonly found artworks will show him seated and teaching, more rare are ones depiciting him in one of his few flights after Ascending.

Powers and Followers

Hector has a noticeable lack of magickal prowess in comparison to the rest of the gods. Becoming a divine being gives him physical strength and abilities well above a mortal, but he never dedicated much of his life to combat. He instead focused on reasoning and learning, unveiling many secrets and sciences of the world and sharing them with his people.
Followers of Hector are found amongst philosophers, teachers, and freethinkers around the world, and his worship is particularly strong in the southern half of Vasileio. Many worship him not for his power or capabilities as a god, but for what he stood for and represented for them as a man. He was an idea of an advancement in mortal knowledge and inspired many to walk his path.
