The Church
Please don´t take insult towards your religion. This is just a FICTIONAL church who is just not the purest in a FICTIONAL story and universe.
Structure
The Church is the dominant political power in the Kingdom of Mordor. While not officially in charge of the running of the kingdom, the Archbishop, Bishop, and lesser priests wielded incontestable power over all the citizens of Mordor. Even the Mayors of Modors Villages are terrified of angering the Bishops as they know the Bishops could legally executed them with a charge of heresy.
Public Agenda
Given just how twisted and unjust their approach to the churches own faith was. They also often abusied the name of their divinity in order to coerce the public into blind obedience under threat of excommunicate persecution or to excuse the murder of heretics in the eyes of the faith. The Archbishop often hiding behind the name of his lord to commit to certain activities and speak as though it was in the name of God behind the scenes. As did the Bishop of Mordor East whom caused the calamity in a misguided act of zealotic duplicity sanctioned by the faith's directory.
While the upper leadership of the Church was corrupt. There were decent priests who adhered to the positive elements of the Church's teachings, evidenced by a brave priest who helped Trevor Belmont prepare holy water to save the people of the Lake of Solitude. These priests still followed the rulings of their corrupt superiors, as part of the mobs.
Assets
While the whole Church is corrupt at its high levels of leadership, it was especially so under the Bishop north Mordor. This Church developed a dedicated military branch to kill all perceived dissenters or even groups the Bishop personally disliked. The Bishop built this military branch by conscripting thieves and thugs as priests. This military Church had so much disregard for the Sixth Commandment that they not only carried weapons but had those weapons forged to resemble Christian crosses.
Mythology & Lore
It is implied that the values the Church preaches are those of traditional Christianity, as dictated by the Bible. In practice, however, the Church is extremely corrupt . This corruption refers to both the Church's tyrannical rule over Mordor and its twisted interpretation of its own Christian values that ignore the spirit of the rules.
While neither of the Gods has made no direct impact to change the ways of the Church. They are unhappy with those that run the religion.
Ethics
The Church is guilty of many of the evilest trends throughout history: burning "heretics", violently suppressing alternate ideas like that they are more than one Gods in reality, and ignoring positive Christian values to consolidate their power whilst paradding gods name.
Worship
The leadership of the Church often ignored its own values and, in the case of the Bishop, had their own twisted interpretation of God's will.
