Kovu has a well build and is of average height which causes him to often be eye to eye with many races and creatures.

Feline Empathy: Kovu has a strong affinity for cats. Feline species tend to flock to him, accepting him almost immediately, recognizing somehow that he is not an enemy but a friend. This allows him to calm injured cats, train them, befriend them, and form strong bonds with them. These animals will even sometimes come to his defense when he is attacked. This has proved most beneficial, especially when it has involved big cats.
Transformation: Kovu can transform himself into a half-human/half-lion creature and back to human form.
Superhuman Senses: Like any Werelion, Kovu can smell better than peak-human beings. His ears are ten times more sensible to sounds than human ears.
Enhanced Endurance: Kovu can survive impacts from falls as tall as houses, without any notable discomfort or injuries at all. He also has increased stamina.
Enhanced Strength: Kovu can easily kill a normal human with a strike, as well as break wall structures with his bare hands.
Toxic Immunity: Kovu has acclimated himself to most toxins and poisons.
Hunting: Kovu learned how hunt in his youth. While he is highly skilled when it comes hunting targets in wilderness environments, he is not very good when it comes to hunting in urban environments.
Zoolingualism: He can communicate with wild animals.
Tracking: Kovu has great tracking skills.
Claws and Fangs: Kovu has powerful claws and is able to cut through solid walls. His fangs can tear human flesh and can rip out a human heart right out of their chest cavity. He is able to transform just his claws without transforming fully.
Regeneration: Kovu can quickly regenerate all non-lethal damage. He can even heal damage that would be fatal to Humans.
Enhanced Bite: Kovu due to his fangs possess a extremely powerful bite.
Hand-to-Hand Combat (Basic): As part of his training with the Royal Family of the Pride Lands, Kovu has learned how to fight instead of just relying on his powers.
