Furcifer

The Furcifer is the Beast of Eternal Change that inhabits the Hyndlend island in the X region of Veilra. In appearance, it resembles a marten with silky black fur pebbled with gold flecks. Only the Hynd are aware of its existence; all other Veilrans believe the island to lie within the boundaries of the X Beast, the X. 

The Furcifer only grants its blessing to one living soul at a time. It bestows its blessing by biting the fingertip of the initiate, breaking the skin and drawing blood. The Furcifer instantly grants its blessed a single ability. Once bitten by the Beast Eternal, an individual gains the ability to shapeshift into any creature that has bitten them and broken their skin, drawing blood, starting with the marten itself.
