The Hivers, a human variant with a eusocial social structure, is discovered near the frontiers of human space, having escaped during the Years of Regrettable Action. War immediately commences. The Hivers fight ferociously, but without Dark Matter Drives, they are doomed to fall. The Hivers are defeated and the remains scattered.
