Imperial Assembly
History
The Imperial Assembly was a legistlative body that met during times of crisis when great change was needed in the Galactic Imperium. It was up to the Emperor of the Universe to determine when that was, and it was always made up of the wealthy, the nobility, and the religiously powerful.
Disbandment
The dissolution of the Imperial Assembly in 3198 was one of the smoothest transitions during the establishment of the New Galactic Republic. It was replaced by the Galactic Senate, and there were members of the Imperial Assembly that then became a part of the Galactic Senate. Hailed as heroes by the Republic, these representatives had been using their money and influence to assist the rebellion and were welcomed with open arms when the Senate was established. Notably, the Imperial Aristocracy was nowhere to be seen, and one of the first planned legislation of the Senate was the redistribution of the lands of the nobility.
