Personal history
Along with Varathra, Agna, and Chandra, Ushas is seen as one of the most important gods in the Nishari Pantheon. This stems from the Rigvedic importance on Ushas, and, as time went on, she became seen as the mother of the Nishari, giving her even more importance. In the current form, Ushas is the most important goddess.
As the goddess of the dawn, she works with Aditi, Roshan, Surya, Chandra, Tara and Rati in order to maintain the day-night cycle. Besides herding in daytime on her chariot, which Red Horses pull, Ushas creates raw light, which Roshan then modifies into Sunrays, which Surya then carries as the day goes on.
