Cheydinhal

The seat of power for the once-mighty Tharn clan. Cheydinhal is a wealthy and prosperous cultural hub, long protected from danger by mountains on two sides, and the untamed rivers of Nibenay on another. It straddles the headwater of the Corbolo River and is famed for its famous violet spires.

Points of interest

The Great Cathedral of Arkay

Chedinhal's most famous landmark is the Great "Chapel" of Arkay. In reality, this site is a massive graveyard, the largest in Cyrodiil. The park spans the Corbolo River and takes up much of the eastern half of the city.

Tharn Mausoleum

Churchgoers are not without a place of worship. Services are held at the ancestral tomb of House Tharn, who ruled over County Cheydinhal for millennia until the end of the Imperial Simulacrum when House Tharn was stripped of its holdings. Now the mausoleum is under the sole jurisdiction of the Order of Arkay who use it to hold vigil every evening at sunset as they have done with House Tharn's blessing since the city's founding.

Indarys Family Tomb

Constructed after the Red Year, Count Indarys spent a fortune to recover the remains held in his family's ancestral tomb in Morrowind, which had nearly been destroyed in the eruption. Though named after his family, the Count has turned the tomb into a place of worship and ritual for the ever-growing Dunmer population of the city that has come to rival House Tharn in attendence. Using the wealth of the county to facilitate ritual necromancy and foreign religion has caused considerable backlash against the Count and his family.
