Watch Hill is known for its rowdy travelers who pass through and merchant guards who spend their nights drinking in The Hangman's Noose.

Government

Watch Hill is governed by a Mayor and a Mayor's Council. The Mayor is appointed by the Lord Barron and helps run day-to-day operations, and works with the Sheriff to enforce the laws appointed by the king and the Lord Barron. The Mayor's Council is a Judicial organization which settles disputes among the villagers, as well as helping the Mayor in granting any new land approved by the Lord Barron.

Defences

Watch Hill has no defensive barriers as a wall or mote, and is policed by the local Sheriff Malar Halfrott with 6 men who help patrol. If the Barron requested military assistance or the town needed to defend itself the Sheriff has a standing Militia of 75 men that can be called up.

Industry & Trade

Tobacco fields, Wheat fields, and Sheep farms help maintain the town throughout the year. There are several Merchant Trains which pass through on their way to Highwall as well as travelers which help support the local economy of Watch Hill. The town has a iron mine that helps supply all of Highwall Area with ore.

Infrastructure

there is one main Highway called the Merchant Road which runs through Watch Hill from East to West, as well as two smaller dirt roads connecting it to the outlying villages. Merchant Trains pass through Watch Hill several times a year and offer some trade to the locals. The town includes one well in the square, as well as a Council Hall (local Inn) where the mayor and the Mayor's Council meet. It supports a grainery, looms, local forge, and paved roads throughout the village.

Assets

Watch Hill has very few shops, which include a trading post called Nora's Wares owned by Nora Weldon and a local Inn called The Hangman's Noose owned by Gandar Weldon. A small Blacksmith shop run by Morn Cathloy does most of the tools and repairs for the village.

History

Architecture

As with most of the Highwall area the buildings are made from wood and mud, then plastered and white washed. Their roofs are thatched with very few tiled roofs appearing in town. most major buildings are made from lumber, with only the Council Hall made of quarry stone.

Geography

Watch Hill sits within the low hills of the Highwall area, surrounded by a spares forest which once use to be connected to the large forest of East Wood.

Natural Resources

Watch Hill produces a few natural resources, which include grain, some wood, Iron ore from the mine, and Wool from the sheep farms.
