Supragens Movement

Born out of religious and political schism, the Supragens Movement is an offshoot of the Church of the Mantle.   Formed in 911 3A after the now infamous Slaughter of the Supragens Priests, the Supragens movement believes that the Church of the Mantle has lost its way. Rather than revering the Gods and the Mantle and fostering that reverence in individuals, the Church has, according to the Movement, become more obsessed with power, money, and influence than doing the Gods' work.   The movement and the Church waged a quasi-war in the streets of cities and their churches for over a decade until the various nations of Kalin signed and proclaimed the Declaration of Supragen Acceptance and Tolerance, which stated that further reprisals from either side would be handled harshly and without remorse.   Since the Declaration, the Supragen Movement has solidified, especially in nations and localities where people are less likely to have a "national god" and more likely to believe worship is a less institutional affair.   While fighting has calmed, it is still not unheard of for a Supragen Church to "accidentally" burn down, or for the Mantle Militant to harass its members. Likewise, Supragens militia have still been known to lynch Orthodox Priests, and even Bomb Orthodox churches. The persecution (real or perceived) of Supragen's followers has led to a strong belief and veneration of Martyrs within the movement.

Structure

Unlike the highly centralized Orthodox Church, the Supragens movement is mostly decentralized and united in belief rather than bureaucracy. Though some larger cities combine their influence and form Synods, which oversee groups of Supragens churches.

Public Agenda

To praise the Mantle and spread the love and teachings of the Avatars and Gods. To allow the gods to reveal themselves to those who worship them in their own time, and be worshiped in their own way.
