Schola Custodi
Part Guard, Part International Law Enforcement.
The Schola Custodi are an ancient order. They began as guards of the Schola Magus, which they still are to this day. But they are also the chief enforcers of the Magical Registry Compact, which requires all magically apt and trained persons to register with the Schola Magus.
Schola Custodi are extremely gifted warriors and mages both. They wear specialized armor and use specialized weapons that make them especially effective at hunting and fighting other mages.
The training for the Custodi is especially tough, taking many years of study and conditioning of both the physical and mental variety.
While they are generally respected, many mages fear the Schola Custodi. If one breaks a Schola Magus bylaw, or one is a non-registered mage, they may soon find themselves in the Custodi's cross hairs, a terrifying position to be in.
Structure
The Schola Custodi is, relatively, a small organization. This allows their organization to be very straight forward when it comes to organization.
The primary rank of the Schola Custodi is that of a "Custodi" which is the non-leadership position in the organization. Below the Custodi are Trainees, who are those attempting to become Custodi, a task that only 2/10 will succeed at.
Each Custodi is part of a Ordo, which usually is stationed at one particular branch or barracks and consists of 5-25 Custodi, depending on the size of the Barracks. Each Ordo is led by a Captain, who reports to the Custodi Concilium. The Custodi Concilium is made up of the other Captains of the organization, who all vote and collaborate on decisions and make determinations for disciplinary actions. The Concilium files reports directly to the Schola Magus Council.
Culture
The Custodi are generally seen as harsh and professional, and this is mostly true. Being a Custodi usually involves intense physical and mental training, which does not end after one becomes a Custodi. Beyond their professional nature, they are also usually academic.
