Jarak

Jarak is notable for being the one Dwarven Realm to not join Dwaav-Torva'Dro Abbanshi or slowly fade away into obscurity.   The Dwarven Realm joined Kingdom of Aurelia in the early fourth century of the Third Age after centuries of good relations and trading. Since then, Jarak has enjoyed a special place in the Kingdom hierarchy, being one of its foremost industrial centers and its single source of military artillery, both for sale and for internal usage. Jarakian Dwarves also enjoy special military rights, being the only ones allowed to handle Aurelian Army artillery.   Jarak was once known as "The Honorless City" due to its large amount of criminality and poor citizens, but joining Aurelia and the trade before that watered down this reputation. Criminality is still more common in Jarak to this day, with several powerful Dwarven Mafia's having inordinate power and influence over the city and its underground, but the massive industrial base of the Realm and its continent-renowned Ale has kept the cities reputation improving.

Demographics

The city in the common day is founded on two primary industries: manufacturing and ale production. The Dwarven Realm holds most of the Kingdom of Aurelia's biggest and most productive factories, and the Realm's renowned ale is mass produced and exported continent-wide. Racially, while the Realm has had to accept non-Dwarven citizens since they joined Aurelia, the vast majority of the population is still Dwarven or Duregar.

Government

The Realm/City itself elects representatives for each Kor (Neighborhood) that makes up the Jarakian Assembly, which make decisions for the city, including the election of the Jarakian members of the Aurelian Rada Ludowa.

Defences

The city is well known for its massive series of defenses built into the mountain face, including what is considered to be the continent's biggest collection of artillery, capable of reducing most besieging armies to pulp before they even reach the gate.

Assets

There are more inns and dive bars in Jarak than the normal Dwarven city. There is also an excess of breweries.

Geography

The area around Jarak is cold and bitter most of the year.
