Efaanu: A Primer

Magic, spirits, and holy War.
Efaanu is a land endlessly divided. Empires have traded the land over millenia, from ancient Atkoria, to the slightly less ancient1 Carlegn's, to today.
During that time, religion has always been an ongoing sorepoint. The Realm worships the Elemental spirits of the earth, The Holy Mernite Sovereignty worships The Mantle, Lethennor worships the God Sulanar. The religions go on, as do the bloody wars over who is right about who they worship.
Technology is advancing, but far behind Kalin. Firearms are rare, mostly found in the form of cannons, or in the hands of the Al Tadhakar. Technomancy is uncommon or just does not exist. Swords, magic, and steel are still the rule of the day.
The land itself is barely tamed. Roads and nations exist, but they are often beset by bandits, monsters, and more. Ancient ruins dot the landscape, ripe for plundering for those brave enough to do so...
