Leviam

Tethers are limits, ties to power not tamed, a power that can be taken away. The only way for real power is for it to be self-contained, to have it burn inside you beyond just a flicker. Bursting tethers is excruciating, hellish and explodes the insides before burning away at them forever. But behemons can survive the burst, and contain the roaring blaze that follows. They can turn it into vigor.   Leviam is the following of the behemons in The Drukh Theocracy. It is the belief that because behemons can sever their tethers, they must. And because no other race can burst their tethers, behemons are divine. Instead of praying to the Fundamentals, Leviam teaches behemons the importance of dedicating time to worshipping themselves, other behemons, and the crackling energy inside them all.

Structure

In Leviam all behemons are equal, but there are still positions within the religion for those that dedicate their lives preaching it. Gospers work in small communities helping those in the area to see the great within themselves. Lerums organise the work of Gospers within much larger communities such as in the capital city of Drukh, Snowgulch. There are no formal or specific rules for how to preach Leviam, so teachings can vary widely across the country.

Tenets of Faith

  • Tethers are chains that must be broken.
  • To doubt yourself is to shame the power given to you.
  • Happiness is meaning in itself; to follow Leviam you must bring joy to those around you.
  • Never fight out of anger, only for glory or justice.

Worship

Everything in Leviam is about therapy. When alone, therapy entails meditation, one-person conversations to bolster confidence, and exercise to condition the body. With others it is building friendships, sharing compliments, providing acts of generosity, and getting secrets off chests to skip to forgiveness. The specifics for how an individual goes through prayer are personal and adapted to what works best for them.

Priesthood

Once fully developed mentally and physically at the adult age of ten, a behemons chooses the path they wish to dedicate themselves to. While some choose to be soldiers or craftsmen or labourers, many find the idea of continuing to show their faith through helping others find theirs appealing. As such, there is no formal process to become a Helper, it is a role bestowed upon someone by those they support and guide. Once shown to be an adequate Helper, the official title of Gosper may be formally bestowed by another Gosper or a Lerum.

United and kindled. We burn together.
