Material Characteristics

The shards come in a variety of colours. Most commonly found in a pale green. They are smooth but have many grooves along the surface, and spike to a point, usually found in clusters.

Physical & Chemical Properties

Due to the arcane nature of these clusters, they glow a hue of their physical colour(s), dimly lighting the darkness around them.

Geology & Geography

Found beneath the surface, most commonly beneath the Merynau Forest not too far down from the surface. Although, it seems that if/when these crystals are found elsewhere in the world, they form much much deeper underground

History & Usage

Discovery

The mana shards were originally discovered by the forest gnomes beneath the Merynau Forest. They use them mostly for lighting their burrows.

Refinement

The crystal can be used in its found state, though the crystals may need to be separated from their clusters depending on the task they are needed for.

Distribution

Trade & Market

The market for mana shards increases more and more each day. With more inventions, comes more demand for mana shards. They are most commonly found beneath the Merynau Forest in the Wood-Elf Kingdom of Llwyrnau.

Storage

The shards are usually stored within chests or boxes made from lead. This is to prevent anyone from finding the shipments through the use of divination magic, but also to prevent any possible discharge of magic.

Law & Regulation

Due to the potential lethal capabilities of the magic within the shards, mining and trading without proper authorization is strictly prohibited.
