Waterkledde

Waterkleddes are a type of demon that revel in causing pain and suffering in their favorite prey, humanoids, before ending the victims lives to devour their flesh. These sinister shapeshifters will often disguise themselves as seemingly harmless animals (generally small and cute ones) and act friendly to get close to their prey. Once they have done so successfully, they strike. Any who are aware of waterkleddes in the area will caution against petting stray dogs, riding loose horses, or any similar actions should you value your life.
Should one be pursued by a waterkledde there are two options: flee or fight. While fleeing many seem a difficult task, it is said that if a handkerchief is dropped the waterkledde will stop to tear it apart and give you precious time to escape. But should a traveler be forced to fight, they must use caution. For if a waterkledde is killed outside of a body of water, such as a pond or lake, seven more will spawn somewhere nearby and seek to claim the life of whomever killed their "parent".

Uncovering the Underdark Campaign

Elycia Mirais killed a waterkledde that attacked the Thaig Expedition as they sailed across the Black Loch aboard the Grinning Widow. Unfortunately for her, she killed the waterkledde outside of water by slamming it into the ship's deck. The wizard Villamax informed her of the demon's reproductive method soon after while examining the cadaver, prompting Elycia to start arming herself against future attacks by these creatures.
