The Last Word

The Last Word is a lost, legendary spell, said to be the greatest of the already immensely powerful Power Word spells. When uttered, it is said that this spell has the power to destroy anything and everything up to a deity.
When Orcus, Demon Lord of the Undead, temporarily achieved godhood under the name Tenebrous, he somehow discovered the Last Word and used it several times in his quest to recover his lost wand. Among his victims were the gods Maanzecorian, the Philosoflayer, and Primus, the Supreme Modron, though it is said other deities were slain as well. It was this action that drew the attention of other greater deities, who united their power to nullify the Last Word and ensure it would never be used again. Though not before Tenebrous himself was undone by it thanks to a group of adventurers, the temporary god slain until his followers later resurrected him as a 'mere' demon lord.
