Solacesteel

Solacesteel is a purified version of mourningsteel. Whereas mourningsteel is a corrupted metal intended to spread evil, solacesteel possesses radiant power meant to serve good. There is are two known ways by which solacesteel can be created. The first is to simultaneously infuse molten metal with tears shed for those who have suffered evil and radiant magic. The second is for someone wielding a mourningsteel item to use it in an act of pure good, transforming the wicked metal into a sanctified form. Just as mourningsteel bares the power to take life, solacesteel most often possesses the power to protect it. Either by healing and aiding those around its wielder or by doing grievous harm to undead, fiends, and other denizens of the Lower Planes.
There is no known way for a solacesteel object to be turned to mourningsteel. Rather, a solacesteel item used to committ an act of evil will crumble to ash.
