Shadow Lurker

The Shadow Lurker is a mysterious man who appears human, tall and thin dressed in a tattered suit. He wears an equally tattered top hat and carries a beat-up old cane. His demeanor is a polite and knowing one and he seems to have an interest in making deals with people in exchange for whatever he considers valuable. This seems to indicate that he is some manner of fey, though exactly what his true nature and intentions are remain unknown.
The Delvers of Secrets first spotted the Shadow Lurker during a foray into the Shadowfell, concealing themselves from him in the brush as he walked along a beaten path nearby. Later, when the adventurers were looking for a out of the Shadowfell (the portal they'd taken to get there having disappeared), they spotted him yet again. Elycia Mirais approached him alone while her companions hid nearby to assess him and see if he could provide any assistance. The Shadow Lurker proved to be polite and seemed to know a great many things, more than he was telling, about the Shadowfell as well as Elycia herself as he commented how it paid to have powerful friends. Despite his unusual behavior, she did manage to broker a deal with him: transportation back to the Material Plane in exchange for a sentimental cloak given to her by a friend.
He took her back down a beaten path, locked arms with her, and in a tone of seriousness his voice had not before taken instructed her to stay on the path and, should she fail to do so, do not fall. Two taps of his cane opened a shadowy door before them and the Shadow Lurker took Elycia through to the Shadow Roads. He bade the elf to describe her destination; with each new descriptor, the roads twisted and warped around them to take them closer to her goal. An unknown time later, for who could track the passage of time in the bleak Shadow Roads, they came to the end of the path where he opened another doorway that dropped them in a tunnel near the city of Brazenthrone. Elycia asked what to call him, the Shadow Lurker at that point giving her his title, and stated he may wish to keep an eye out from her friends she'd been separated from in the Shadowfell as well. The Shadow Lurker informed her he wouldn't be going back immediately. Rather, he intended to see if he could pick up any interesting souvenirs while on the Material Plane. Elycia thanked him for his assistance and the two went their separate ways, the Shadow Lurker walking off in the opposite direction as the elf.
