Arcane Knights

The Arcane Knights are an order of male warriors that work in line with the Sword Dancers of House Vaerixas in the name of the goddess Eilistraee, the Dark Dancer. Unlike the Sword Dancers, who can be found far and wide across the Material Plane, the Arcane Knights are unique to Nexus as their training relies on the House Vaerixas males heritage providing them with the gift of sorcery. Whereas the Sword Dancers are swordswomen first and mages second, the Arcane Knights flip with script by focusing mainly on magic with their weapons training as back-up. Though they are skilled warriors by conventional standards, they are considered less potent than the Sword Dancers and often serve in secondary roles when the two perform together.
As the Sword Dancers are the main protectors of the Deep Spire (in both reputation and a more literal sense) among House Vaerixas, missions that take place away from home typically fall on the Arcane Knights. Guarding trade ships, scouting the Black Loch and surrounding tunnels, and other such duties often keep these men away from home.
