Personal history

Early Life and Veyd Initiation:
Born on Acaron, a world steeped in arcane mysteries and turbulent power struggles, he exhibited an early affinity for the arcane that far surpassed that of his peers. His unique abilities did not go unnoticed; Veyd Seekers, tasked with identifying potential recruits with innate arcane talents, swiftly brought him into the fold of the Veyd Order.
Mal'acar's induction into the Order was a turning point, marking his departure from his roots and the beginning of a new life dedicated to the arcane arts. The teachings of the Veyd opened new horizons for Mal'acar, but they also isolated him from his species, whose connection to the arcane was steeped in the dark side. This isolation deepened as Mal'acar delved further into the Order's teachings, eventually breaking any link he had with his home planet.
Arcane Curiosity and the Dark Artifacts:
Seeking answers for his isolation from his brethren species, among the Veyd's vast artifacts, Mal'acar would come into contact with the vast libraries and secret chambers of the Veyd Order. He became fascinated with the forbidden knowledge contained within the dark artifacts stored by the Order. As he studied the artifacts, he could feel the connection with his species returning as well as new secrets and arcane powers being whispered to him.
His fascination soon turned into an obsession. Mal'acar spent countless hours studying the dark artifacts, often in secret, driven by a conviction that their potential could unlock new realms of arcane mastery.
In Aunap Apul, Mal'acar found a kindred spirit, a human whose own brush with the dark side resonated with Mal'acar's growing disillusionment. Together, they formed a pact, the Pact of Shadows, dedicated to exploring the depths of dark arcane power. Their combined efforts led to breakthroughs that were as terrifying as they were revolutionary, drawing a small following of others who were disenchanted with the Order's restrictions.
Descent into Darkness:
Mal'acar's exploration of the dark artifacts revealed to him a realm of power that was intoxicating. The more he delved into these forbidden secrets, the more he rationalized his actions. Each artifact whispered promises of untold strength and knowledge, seducing him further from the path laid out by the Veyd Order. The allure of the dark side began to eclipse the disciplined teachings he had once embraced, convincing him that true arcane mastery lay beyond the Order's constraints.
The Transformation:
In a pivotal moment, Mal'acar and his cohort attempted to bind a powerful dark artifact to his will, believing they could bend its power to their will. The ritual, imbued with the combined forces of their arcane knowledge and the dark energy of the artifact, spiraled out of control. Aunap Apul seized the moment to strike down Mal'acar, intending to kill him and claim the power of the ritual for himself. However, the bond formed by the dark artifacts and the ritual itself created a volatile and unpredictable environment.
The human's action led the ritual to spiral out of control. The resulting explosion was a maelstrom of dark energy that tore Mal'acar's essence from his body, transforming him into a wraith, a being of immense power but bound to the shadows.
Mal'acar, the Wraith:
In the aftermath, Mal'acar emerged from the chaos not as a man but as a wraith, a being of shadow and malevolence. His new form was intangible, bound to the physical realm only by his will and the dark energies that had consumed him. This transformation granted him the ability to possess the bodies of others, absorbing their knowledge, powers, and even their life force. With each possession, Mal'acar grew stronger, his understanding of both the arcane and the dark side deepening.
Rebellion Against the Veyd:
With Aunap's body as his vessel, Mal'acar initiated a rebellion against the Veyd Order from within. Utilizing his deep understanding of the Order's secrets and vulnerabilities, he rallied a faction of disillusioned Veyd and other arcane practitioners who felt stifled by the Order's dogma. This group would eventually be defeated by the Veyd, with Mal'acar and his disciples vanishing from the known galaxy.
The March to Acaron:
Mal'acar led his followers in a daring exodus to Acaron, the world of his birth and a planet rich in arcane energies. Their arrival marked the beginning of a new chapter in Acaron's history. Mal'acar, leveraging his and Aunap's combined powers and knowledge, quickly subdued the planet's ruling factions, establishing himself as the first Emperor of Acaron and laying the foundations of what would become the Draethar cult—beings worshiped as gods of war and arcane might.
Establishment of the Empire of Acaron:
As Emperor, Mal'acar's first decree was the formal establishment of the Acaronian Empire, a realm where the arcane ruled supreme, and where the pursuit of power was the highest virtue. He structured the empire around the worship of the Draethar as divine beings, with himself as the god-king at its center. The newly formed Draethar quickly became the empire's ruling class, tasked with spreading their doctrine and consolidating Mal'acar's rule across neighboring star systems.
Ascention of the Emperor
After consolidating his power on Acaron and establishing the Empire, Mal'acar took on the mantle of the Wraith Emperor, a title that would be worshiped by the Acaronians. Under this guise, he expanded the empire's reach, with his eyes set on imposing a new order across the galaxy. The Wraith Emperor was both revered and feared, a symbol of the dark arcane forces that now threaded through the fabric of the empire.
The Cult of Draethar and the Obsidian Throne:
Mal'acar would institutionalize the worship of the Draethar, positioning himself as the apex of this new pantheon. Temples dedicated to the Draethar sprung up across the empire, with the Obsidian Throne at Acaron serving as the cult's heart. This religious fervor not only solidified Mal'acar's rule but also deepened the empire's commitment to exploring and wielding dark arcane energies.
The Obsidian Emperor:
Eventually, as Aunap's body deteriorated, Mal'acar would come to possess several other powerful beings, these new transformations serving as a way for him to gain more power and the knowledge of his host body. This practice would be seen as an honor to those who partook in it.
After more than a millennium of ruling, the Wraith Emperor would then possess an Acaronian Draethar that showed signs of greatness from an early age. The new being would be called The Obsidian Emperor soon after his possession.
Confrontation with Tyran Cassel and Banishment:
After countless eons, Mal'acar would see potential in the Veyd exile, Tyran Cassel, as the young human found his way to Acaron. The wraith would quickly try to take control of the human; however, Tyran proved to be more than his match, engaging in a duel against the deteriorated host body.
A duel erupted between the two in the imperial throne room. As they clashed, it became clear that Mal'acar's power, though immense, was matched by Tyran's cunning and resolve. In a decisive moment, Tyran managed to sever Mal'acar's connection to his host body, using a combination of his arcane might and the pure force of his will.
The separation forced Mal'acar back into his wraith form, stripping him of the stability and power provided by his physical vessel. Tyran, leveraging ancient Veyd techniques and artifacts, succeeded in casting Mal'acar into the void, binding him to the abandoned temples deep in the Acaronian jungles.
Tyran assumed control over the Acaronian Empire and outlawed the worship of the Wraith, forcing Mal'acar's spirit to watch as his name fell into darkness.
