Deseret

Fifth planet in the Safenu solar system (named after its discoverer Martian deep space scout Timoteo Safenu) and home to the founding colony of the Republic of New Deseret. The planet is blessed with vast amounts of water that support both the famous Nui Trees and a diverse maritime ecosystem that hosts the largest number of cephalopod species in known space.
The goal of the settlers of New Deseret (coming from the United Nation of Earth, the Martian Free Cities and the Confederated Belt Colonies was to build a society free of the rampant abuse of human rights in the name of national security and corporate surveillance capitalism while avoiding the social infantilism seen in many of the socialist political experiments that occurred during the 23rd Century.
