Isa Valgard
The twin sister of Bjorn Valgard, and first daughter of the Valgard family. The year Bjorn died, Isa was kicked by a horse before he passed and it left her bereft of the use of her legs. Her father was near-mad with grief and killed the man in a duel to the death in defense of his case that Isa was owed weregild.
After her mother died in childbirth giving the family one more baby girl, Isa became the baby's caretaker by default, even though she was crippled. When the baby died in the night during winter, Isa took her own life. She refused to eat, talk, or even move after the sad little funeral. She just stared out the window at the graves on the hillside and died clutching her chest.
