Candlekeep
A city state at the southern edge of the Lord's Alliance. Though not part of the alliance, they're good friends and engage in trade with each other.
Candlekeep is the largest collection of mages and scholars in the sword coast.
Structure
Candlekeep is a meritocracy, with a single ruler (usually their most adept and knowlegdable scholar) called the keeper of the tomes.
Those who destroy knowledge, with ink, fire, or sword, are themselves destroyed
