Forexia

Geography

Forexia is a continent that, thousands of years before the Sea's Flood that started the After Flooding Era, Forexia itself was a giant mountain that stretched along for miles. It was through the erosion of the constant downpour that caused the peak of the mountain to be molded into the rolling hills over time. The vast stretch of green was the result of the soil being perfect breeding grounds for flowers, trees, bushes, shrubs, and other small vegetations alike. There stretches amount of lakes, ponds, and other still water bodies that remain on the island, while a few creeks and river travel back to the ocean. However, after the Sea's Flood provided in the destruction of the Sea's Leviathan, much of the land was threatened by the large inhabitants of a tsunami of waves crashing, and engulfing the landscape.
After the flooding of the world had concluded, Forexia was reconstructed to have large elevation patterns, similar to what it was in its glory days. However, much of the land was submerged, as evidence to the revival of Libertalia. The people of Forexia then gathered 100 of the best terramancers in order to begin bringing up the terra that was once since forgotten, or uprooted the soil of the mountain peaks to the glorious continent that has been brought into today.

Ecosystem

The climate itself is temperate with the main attraction that which is rolling hills and sparse forests. Typically there are smaller critters, such as prairie dogs, raccoons, squirrels, and chipmunks. Though, as you reach the coast, you shall find yourself with seagulls, clams, crab, assortments of fish, sea turtles, and shoehorn crab. Due to most of its rich environment underwater, the ecosystem around the coast does contain a large portion of coral reefs as well as algae and seaweed. Towards the south of the continent contains turtles, crawfish, and other fresh water animals. Forexia also contains a large portion of endemic insects, the waterskipper on the inland, and the scissor mantis to name a few. The vegetation resides with large blankets of grass as well as the occasional cherry tree mixed with aspen forests.

Natural Resources

Due to the particular basin toward the north of the continent, within its coral reef is a large abundance of pearls. There are many of mines constructed and reach deep into the former mountain and contains a large chunk of gold and silver, which often is converted into Doubloons that The World Government uses for the world's currency. There are also many deposits of iron, copper, and magical mythium ore (mythium is a mineral that contains traces of magical energy within it. These are often converted into magical sigil or used as a raw energy to power machines).

History

The beginning of Forexia, or as it formally was known, Mount Forexia-Megamuntus (which translate to The Giant Mountain of the Fox in the forgotten tongue of Bestia) was a giant mountain range that stretched across along the right hemisphere of Nermoni during the realm of 2900 BF. It was largely populated by Bestia as the giant mountain herald a large and rich ecosystem as its peak could be seen at any stretch of the mountain. It was often associated that the popular belief was that this mountain was once lived on by the gods.
The mountain continent flourished for thousands of years. However, it was during the time of 1390 BF was when the Bestia Clan of Opini (A clan mainly inhabited by bull Bestia) began to feud with the Bestia Clan of Xantu (A clan mainly inhabited by wolf Bestia) began to discover the realm of magical deposits in the core of the mountain. At first they agreed upon peaceful terms. However, it was when an Opini clansman argued that the Xantu's portions were much large in comparison. However it to be true, this was due to the mythium deposits conflicting with other natural mineral deposits, causing its magic to be diluted (this discovery would later be found out by The R&D Team of the Navy many centuries later). However, the concept of quantity over quality was never concluded, and their verbal abuse turned to physical. The Opini were large and imposing, the Xantu found themselves be waged war with, and a war they could not commit to. It was only after three centuries of the abuse, did they begin to apply more than lethal means. Terramancy was discovered within the gene pool of the Xantu's Innate Magic as they began to ravage the homes of the Opini, devastating their mines, livelihoods, and also their land. They began terraforming a basin around the center of the mountain's peak and stuck the Opini inside (This would be the home of The Pure Star Nebula many centuries later).
As the discovery of Innate Magic within all the clans on Forexia-Megamuntus began to become more prevalent, so too did the wars across the mountain ensued. Fire across the skies, water piercing the hearts of many, lightning arching across the land, brutality was among its inhabitants. Countless losses of life stretched across for nearly twelve entire centuries. However, the continent's clan leaders of a much younger generation began to converse... the fighting was pointless, and it was beginning to tarnish the beautiful landscape. They reached a mutual agreement to stop the masses of fighting. To combat enforcement, they established a government of city-states that rely on one another, no true ultimate ruler over the continent, but they all governed under the same mindset (This is the infancy of the World Government).
It was not until that the Sea's Leviathan was slain that problems quickly arose... or rather, began to erode. The flooding of magical energy within the rain precipitating on the mountain began to rapidly destroy the rock the mountain. At the very start 90 BF, the continent was submerged by countless days and months of rain, crashing of tsunamis with the salt from the water taking inches away from the shores at any given time. Then suddenly... it stopped... the mark of 1 After Flooding (AF). It was through the panic that pirates quickly swamped across the land, forcing a quick establishment of intercontinental power to quickly form, The World Government. The first decree was bringing Forexia back to its former glory. They gathered 100 of the best Terramancers, and for 232 days, they terraformed the land. However, the strain of those 232 days caused many of them to wither away and perish from magical sickness... they exhausted their magical energy one too many times. By the 232nd day, only 37 terramancers remained. However, through the traveling, the hard work and dedication, they crafted the very continent that is now in today's Nermoni. Not only did they received a plaque in the Madlock Museum as well as the mural in their honor, many of the towns and cities contain bits and pieces of their surnames, and represented each ending with Lock, as a means to tribute their efforts locked in history.

Tourism

Many tourists find themselves appreciating the many towns and cities around Forexia. If it being the freedom of Libertalia, or the wonderous and impressive capital, Madlock, there are many different attractions for outlanders to come and explore. Many have commented that the stars are most beautiful in Forexia, as well as when the night hits the coast, the coral reef will begin to glow, releasing vast amounts of magical energy. However, one of the most appealing attractions of the continent is the gripping multicultural influence that the continent provides. A world census has concluded that the continent's population's highest percentage of humanoid species is Bestia with only a 21% overall population density across the whole continent, Elfmon coming second with 17%.
