In the harvesting season of 984, after being effectively driven out of Semseach altogether, the Dobrid Kingdom officially surrendered to the Ethelan Empire in a bid to maintain control of what remained of their territory. The King gave a final proclamation to his people, asking his people to welcome the Supreme Authority of the Emperor and to be proud of their accomplishments thus far. He emphasized that this was not a defeat, but a new beginning. His proclamation was met with mixed reactions, but by and large his subjects obeyed.
