Basic Information

Anatomy

They have a black midnight coat of fur, black beak, two short black feet. They have wings that allow them to fly around.

Same as normal birds

Growth Rate & Stages

It starts as a fledge and learns to fly. They stick close to their nests. The young are mostly hunted by Red Owls. Then they get to their fledgling stage where they leave their parents and learn to survive in the harsh world. They then enter the adult age of their life where they find a mate, reproduce and the cycle repeats.

Ecology and Habitats

They prefer to live in forests. They like to find a place in the trees to make a nest.

Dietary Needs and Habits

They like to eat little worms and other meat. Their favorite food is rodents that live in little holes in the trees. They can eat other things but those are their main source of food.

Uses, Products & Exploitation

Species such as Qieq’ars like to eat them but that has stopped in the last 100 years due to the population decreasing.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

They have a hidden gem that allows them to see incoming predators. This gem basically acts as a thermal camera. They can turn it off at any given time. People tended to also hunt them because of this precious gem. They also have increased hearing and can see in the dark.
