Albian Confederacy
Structure
The confederacy is made up of many diffrent clans and races only united in similliarity in language and faith and most importantly their will to resist the empire.
The Confederacy is ruled by a Highking or Queen, this Title is inheritet and only in cases of inhertiance conflict a Thing decides upon who shall be the next King or Queen.
Primarly the tribes are made up of dwarfes, Goliaths and Humans, there are often frictions between the clans.

Culture
While once the Albian Clans lifed a realtivly peacful life in the nortern parts of the continent, the empire made them take up arms to defend themselves against the overwhelming force.
Their bravery is often remarked by their allies and enemies alike, what they lack in equipment and discipline they make up in ferocity and bravery.
But their most valluable assets are Shamans, powerful mages that sometimes even manage to call upon the dead to fight for them.
Such necromantic practices have long been made illegal in the empire but are accepted among Suebian Tribes.
Over the last two centuries the Suebians also strarted building small and quick ships often boosted by the magic of their shamans, to quickly pass through Westurian Navy blockades.
With these ships the suebians started raiding much of the Northern Westurian Coast and also were able to invade Bretonia from the North with their allies the picts.
While the Albians treasure bravery and skill with a sword they also see the value in knowledge, the arcane and even farming.
Their land however isnt very fertile so they have to conquer more fertile lands to build villages and farms for themselves.

The Albians need land for their people, in recent years their population has exploded which led to a shortage in food and land among their people.
The lands of Bretorum seem ripe for the taking with the empire growing weaker every year.
While the northern Wall still hold it will only be a question of time till the armies of the Suebians can march into the isles anc conquer what they need.

Right now the Albians Controll no major cities nor are they producing anything of huge value, the lands they control are not fit for agraculture.
They however controll a large armies, in the thousands they could even storm the northern wall successfully.
The Pictish Shamans are also a powerful faction of mages that lives in the north of Bretorum and has sworn allegiance to the suebian clans.

History
In the year 645 before the fall, the Albian Tribes banded together and elceted their First High King, Beonor the Iron Fist, he was a famed warrior and fierce leader of his suebian Army.
Together with his army he reconquered much of the northern Lands that were occupied by the Westurian Empire.
But his reign was shortlived and after his death his three sons rather killed each other than fight the empire. Only after another hundred years a new real High Queen would be elected, Ronja a fierce child of the north,
according to legend she was brought up by wolves and still has a pack of them always near her.

The Albians Terretory spans over wide oceans and tall mountains, as there is no real central goverment, this isnt really a problem for the confederation.
But in times of war, when a highking is chosen, the Confederacy will take up army from all across the lands and march as one.
