Kingdom of Ibergul
The Kingdom of Ibergul a vassal-kingdom within the southernmost parts of Sorvia and is perhaps the largest and most diverse kingdom within the Drachenreich of Sorvia. It was formed in the year 2006 AGD and after many centuries of bloodshed it reched the borders that can be seen today.
After being brought under heel of the Sorvians in the wake of the day of wounded wings the kingdom would come to be reliant upon the aid of the Dracnasorvans to help keep the region of Galipor in line and the desert raiders from causing too much damage along the borders. While Queen Izabela Trinadango is the head of the the kingdom and absolute authority within all the realm, she is aided greatly by the Temple of Mari's Light, a sect of The Sorvian Pantheon presided over by the second most powerful person in Ibergul El Hermano.
History
The origins of the Kingdom of Ibergul lay in the past, back when the Plains of Mar were heavily under the occupation of the snake people known as the Viphon after the Serphate Immigration. After achieving great battles throughout the region only 4 of the Kingdoms of Mar remained. The Kingdom of Ibral, The Kingdom of Ertaluna, The Kingdom of Gulisa and lastly the Kingdom of Galipor. Ibral, Etraluna and Gulisa through a mix of war, diplomacy and marriage would eventually come together to form The Kingdom of Ibergul in 2006AGD. Galipor while being the smaller of the kingdoms and remaining on a peninsula largely inhabited by Viphon, Orcs and other unfriendly races with few netural races, managed to survive and thrive, taking much of the land and becoming one of Iberguls greatest rivals.
At the time of formation much of the Serphate Savannah was deeply in the grasp of the Serphate Viphon. However the first king of Ibergul Philipe Jermunaz, wanted to rectify that and for much of his reign planned an extensive first strike against the Viphon in order to take back his peoples ancestral homelands.
These Conquests once set off in 2024 AGDwould turn into a series of crusades and wars between the Serphate Viphon and Ibergulians that would last centuries, only to end in 2746 AGD once the last of the Viphon inhabiting the lands considered rightfully Ibergullian had fled back to the deserts and/or returned to their nomadic ways or they had accepted the Ibergullians as their new rulers, becoming almost second class.
After this the Kingdom turned its foreign focuses elsewhere, as the Galiporians had become strong and rich through their trades and conquests of what was now knowns as the Galiporian Peninsua. At the same time the fickle Talian Princes to the north, while known for their constant bickering, were also a thorn in the kingdoms sides for their constant flip flopping between sides in wars, and the fear of what would happen should the princes unite was too much of a fear for the nobility and people of Ibergul to bare.
After years of border changes and war, eventuall the northern dragon lords would appear, changing all life within the north of Daemos as they enslaved all and ruled with iron claws. Despite being one of the southernmost regions of the domain of the dragon lords, Ibergul was not given any less of their wrath with towns and cities being razed on whims, and much of the kingdom living in fear of their new draconic overlords.
Eventually in 4700 AGD an uprising widely believed to have been instigated by Freidrick I "Dragonsbane" Von Dracnasorva would free much of the north of Daemon from the clutches of the northern dragon lords, leaving the rest of their domain to fall apart in their grasp. A staunch ally of Dracnasorva, the newly proclaimed King of Ibergul, Juna De Coesqa would vow to unite his people with the other human kingdoms of the north so that none may do what the dragons did again. This would result in the kingdom being incorporated into the Drachenreich of Sorvia
Around the mid 5000s, seeing the Galiporians still weak centuries after draconic rule, would commence and invasion that while valiantly fought off, would lead to their absorbation as a grand duchy withinin the kingdom, granted special privilages but still being subserviant to the Ibergulian crown and having the Temple of Mari's Light thrust ioib them. The people of Galipor are not happy with this.
In modern times the Kingdom is mostly peaceful with its neighbours, while there are internal grumblings from different parts of the kingdom hoping to one day split off no major event has given any such groups the chance to do so. The Temple of Mari's Light has become more powerful than anyone could have imagined, with its influence spreading across the 6 kingdoms of Sorvia thanks to the empires ease of migration. However, events in the north of the empire conspire to drag Ibergul into a mess from which it may not come out the same.
Religion
In The Kingdom of Ibergul, while all worship of Sorvian Pantheon is encouraged, The Temple of Mari's Light in particular is favored among the people of Ibergul. The religious fevor has helped propel Mari into being one of the more popular gods of the pantehoeon, due to her closeness to the light and image of purity espousing ideals of greatness in mortals.
