The Clans

While no robot is really related by blood to any other robot, every villager in Kernelle belongs to a specific family or "clan." Each family has a particular culture and primary role to play in the village. Robots that are new to the village go through the process of adoption to find which clan they best fit with.
The clans usually get along well. There's no sense of class distinction - every clan takes pride in what makes them special, but has a sense of respect and gratitude for the other clans. Together they form a lively, close knit community where everyone knows everyone else.
