Hybrids

Bearing features from two different animals, hybrids are the most common monstrosities of the Ulvenwald. As far as "monsters" go, they are considered to be the least dangerous, albeit still deserving of extreme caution if encountered. While more aggressive than ordinary beasts, hybrids have etched out a niche in their disturbed ecosystem, with some even being successfully domesticated. Griffs are the most frequently encountered, being a combination of bird & beast that can be tamed into unparalleled mounts for members of the Cathars Crusade. Owlbears are considered Griffs, but attempts to domesticate them have been considerably less successful, as such they are typically left alone.
