Teacher Caliphys (a.k.a. the Guardian)
Elder Dragon mentor & guide. Teaches his students wisdom, peace of mind, harnessing the elements, poetry, calligraphy, and self-defense. As one of the oldest beings on the plane, his knowledge of magic is second to none, enabling him to see through illusions with ease, foresee spells before they can be cast, and turn aside all magics used against his monastery.
It is often assumed Caliphys is a pacifist and therefore a pushover. The frozen statues of fools who make these assumptions are used in many of Caliphys' lessons. In addition are hundreds of scrolls depicting powerful mages who come seeking to challenge Caliphys, only to be humbled by his mastery of the arcane.
