Vindril

Vindril was one of The Vistani of Barovia. He worked as one of Strahd's trusted allies, and would often find, lure and trap unsuspecting visitors in Barovia, all at the behest of his master. Vindril would be the one responsible for bringing the Saviours of Barovia into Barovia.

History

Life as a Vistani

Vindril was born in Barovia, into the roving group known as The Vistani. This group would often roam Barovia, establishing camps for several months or more, before moving on once again. Vindril grew up with a group of Vistani led by Madame Eva, one of the wisest among them. While he kept in good contact with Madame Eva and his family in the group, Vindril would soon move on as an adult, spending more time at the Vistani group that lived around Vallaki.
This second group of Vistani was allied with Strahd Von Zarovich himself, and would work in Barovia to ensure their master's will would be met. Vindril was often the one tasked with bringing new inhabitants to Barovia, where Strahd would enjoy tormenting them. As a master of disguise and deception, this posting suited Vindril quite well.

Deception in Krysset

In AoR 597, Vindril was present in the Atmoran city of Krysset. Posing as a Paladin of the Loyal Fury, he had successfully recruited several members of the local community, leading them on what they thought would be a monster hunt. Taking the lead, Vindril led the group into the Pinetrost Woods where Death House. Vindril successfully tricked the group into the house, which acted as a portal into Barovia.
Vindril would once again meet the group, this time in Barovia at Tsar Pool. The group instantly responded with anger towards Vindril, though they were intercepted by Madame Eva herself, whom wish to speak with them.

Death in Ravenloft

Vindril would later be present for the wedding of Strahd Von Zarovich and Ireena Kolyana. A battle would break out during the ceremony, with the Saviours of Barovia striking out at Strahd at the alter. During the fighting Vindril would be killed by Shamruuc, the warlock finally exacting revenge for trapping him within Barovia.
