Abbess Akari
Akari once belonged to the Dragonfly Clan. She retired to Emma-O Seido after her husband passed away. Unlike many of the sisters of the temple, who retire here to grieve, she came here fully committed to serving Emma-O. That dedication saw her swiftly rise to abbess.
She is a patient and respectful leader and most of the sisters are grateful to her for helping them find some measure of peace in their new lives. Having so many women here of so many clans, filled with the sin of Regret and angry about loss, political entanglements are a constant worry for Akari. Even worse, many of the women who come here to grieve wait months before taking their vows. Before they do, they are still samurai and the problem with that is obvious. She will bar anyone from the temple if she thinks they might draw a sister back into the troubles of their old lives.
