Zaberon, The Beheaded Betrayer

God Zaberon (a.k.a. Beheaded Betrayer, The Mad God, The Laughing One)

The Beheaded Betrayer is the god of madness and betrayal, and his history represents those qualities perfectly. Before the Schism, he spent his time being friendly and talking to the Empire Gods, helping them with what they needed, and using his followers for good. He initiated the Scism by approaching Vitaria, Empire God of Life and piercing her mid-section with the Blade of True Darkness, a blade infused with his essence to such an extent, where a mortal looking at it would fall to the ground gibbering and panicking, having forever lost its sanity. He was stopped from permanently killing her by Yiortis, Empire God of Justice who subsequently killed him by taking off the Betrayers head, which is still kept under his largest temple. The Betrayer now has no physical body, with most of his essence living in his sword, which has been lost to the ages. Of all the evil forces in the world, he can create a group following him the fastest, by infusing a mortal with his madness to write one of his Blasphemous Books, which render everyone who hears them and is not of strong mind and spirit to fall to their knees in worship of Zaberon. His cults then grow a bit, and then attack a target set to them during the creation of the book, or implode in on themselves, as the maddened zealots seek to prove who is the most devoted and with cackling laughter massacre one-another
