Southern Steppes
The Southern Steppes, or as their inhabitants call them, the Endless Green, are a trully vast swathe of flat plans that extends from the forests of Central Tolhera to the sandy desert of Ahridia, and the Dark Mountains. The most distinctive characteristic of the planes is their massive size, which defines the flora, fauna, and the people that life in them

Another famous inhabitant of the steppes are the Roc, titanic avian predators that are known for being able to pick up a fully grown bison in their talon, and drop it to its death from above. Such things however are rather rare, as Rocs usually prefer to pick up a freshly deceased bison and bring it whole to their nest to feed their young, which have a very long growing period before they leave the nest.
Besides the two most famous creatures there are also wolves, some bears, deer, elk, sheep, and innuemerable small burrowing critters that make their underground nests beneath the planes., or hunt within them. An important thing to mention for the fauna are the corrupted creatures that make their way into the steppes from the Mountains of Madness. The dark magic of the south often spreads to the creatures that live there, and they roam into the steppes by some innate enstinct to spread their corruption. These creatures are slain and burned by the Tribes of the Southern Steppes, who act as the custodeans to the steppes, and provide the Empire with a firewall against the encroaching corruption.
Flora:
The plantlife in the Southern Steppes is dominated by grasses, some shrubs, and a few trees, that are large enaugh to fend for themselves against the wandering herds of bisons that trample young saplings and shrubbery. These large trees provide safe haven for the nests of Roc and vultures.Fauna:

Bison herds in the millions roam through the steppes, trampleing saplings, and ensuring that their favorite food source, the grass, continues to thrive. Bison have earned an almost legendary reputation in the Steppes, as headstrong guardians of the land, and herds of bison have played a large role in the history of the Tribes of the Southern Steppes.
