Wealdmær

<Wheeled-Merr>

"The Hunter"

Divine Domains

Wealdmær is associated with forests, death, hunting, predators, and winter. He is a god of nature, and the druids of the north  consider him part of their pantheon. The city folk of Bocrae primarily view him as a god of death, hunting, and misfortune. Of the druidic gods, Wealdmær weighs most heavily on the minds of city folk.

Holidays

In Bocrae, the first hunt of the year is dedicated to Wealdmær and the first caribou killed is left for him as an offering. This hunt is generally organized as a townwide activity, with most families sending a representative to join the hunting party. A small prayer is said over the caribou, asking for Wealdmær's blessing to continue hunting in his forests.   Individual hunters sometimes forgo the activity so they do not have to waste time hunting prey they cannot profit from, but more superstitious hunters still do.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

Since the two were born, Wealdmær has hunted his sibling Guðrún and the other creature of the forests. His only goals are the death of his prey.   It is said that Kerh Tam uses its magic to keep them eternally apart, maintaining the balance between life and death.

Physical Description

Identifying Characteristics

Wealdmær is a massive black wolf standing at least 15' tall at his shoulder. His fur is smoky gray and black, and his red eyes gleam with hunger. His fur appears almost as if it is moving of its own accord, swirling as if in a snowstorm. His mere presence brings a chill to the air.
