Saggon (Sahg-gon)

The Golden Prince

"Those who crave wealth need only say His name, and they will be set upon the path of true power. Heed this warning - no request comes without cost. Those that cannot pay in blood will pay in soul." - The Word Of Saggon, IV:III
Saggon is a powerful demonic god associated with wealth, green, and deals. He is one of the seven Demon Primacies, said to personify Tazan's greed. He is also known as The Golden Prince, the Greed of Tazan. Of the seven, he is often considered the most 'civilized', though only a fool would call him the least dangerous. His worshippers include thieves, mages, merchants, and the wealthy.   The Golden Prince promises wealth and power to those who lust after it, regardless of what it takes. Unlike many other gods, his cult is not a monolithic organization, but rather one that grows like weeds wherever trade is done. Some cultures associate Saggon with trade brokerage, and allow his servants to act as intermediaries for dangerous deals. Their fees tend to be exorbitant, but the danger of making an enemy of the Golden Prince tends to ward off either party from crossing the other, and others from interfering.

Holy Books & Codes

The Word of Saggon is the religious text traded behind closed doors, and given to new members. It is said to have been written by a mortal who spoke to Saggon directly, and has chapters of information on running successful (if aggressive, illegal, and immoral) businesses, how to steal, murder, and lie your way to power, along with religious passages extolling Saggon's power.   Despite being a demonic god who preys on the souls of mortals to form his servants, Saggon is well known for making deals to protect the souls of those who give proper offerings to him, allowing them to continue to the Afterlife. Whether these claims are true is difficult to ascertain, but nonetheless, mortals with no other god's favor often pray to him.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

Saggon's divine symbol varies from culture to culture, but always includes an item of value partially covered in blood. Across Aisoa, regional symbols include salt, silk, golden coins, and Archgold. These symbols are sometimes used as secret ways of communicating between members, and calling cards for their activities when necessary.
