Now trapped in The Void, Alec and his classmates must find a way to escape while surviving the hordes of Monsters and the Angels
Now trapped, Alec and the team began to wander through the darkness. Monsters roamed free and Chris questioned what exactly is this void to where there are so many monsters can come in so easily. Regardless they roam, hunting for any semblance of a way out. But as they wandered aimlessly, Jayden's flame began to flicker as he held his head. Maya asked what was wrong but Jayden shrugged it of and said he was fine While clearly doubtful, Chris reminded her that even if something is wrong, they couldn't do anything for him if they're trapped here. So they pressed on, fighting monsters along the way. After who-knows-how-long of aimless walking, they begin to get tired. That's when they're attacked and Akane is struck by a lightning bolt. The group snap to see Haruto, Jarred and Taylor all there, transformed and flames illuminating them. Chris immediately drew his sword, demanding to know what they're doing here, to which Haruto answered that he can back off they're just here to kill Jayden, Akane and Maya Alec can choose to ask where the other two are and Taylor explains there was a difference of opinion among the Angels so they agreed to split off and handle things their way. This group specifically thought that killing was the best route Maya immediately calls bullshit, saying that Taylor wants to kill her and Akane assumes the same of Haruto. Haruto just scoffs and lies, saying that it's just part of the deal Alistair made with the Yakuza. He must uphold it. She was shocked. He'd really kill his own family for that? Haruto argues that she's not his family. That family ruined him just because of something he had nothing to do with. The Yakuza is his family now Taylor laughed, assuring Maya that he definitly wants to kill her. After all, she ruined his life when she left him to take the fall for that murder. Jayden glared at Jerrod and asked, what about him? Sure they drifted apart after that day but he never imagined Jerrod wanted to kill him. And honestly? He didn't. This had nothing to do with that. But in this world, power means everything. The weak just obey, and no one is more powerful than Alistair. Jayden calls him crazy and demands to know how he could come to such a messed up conclusion. Instead of answering though, Jerrod rushes him, intitiating a fight. While the fight is much closer than before, due to the two missing members but they still nearly kill the group but something happens to Jayden. Jerrod goes to slash him but he doesn't flinch as he turns to look him dead in the eye with a piercing glare. In a thunderous voice, he demanded to know "How dare you strike me, brother!" he asked, grabbing his wrist and crushing it. Jerrod screamed in pain, prompting Akane to break away from her fight with Haruto to try and stop him but gets slapped away and caught by Maya, "Such insolance, to defy a god!" Defy a god? Sure, they had godlike powers but Jayden was still Jayden, right? Regardless, Alec's group quickly turn their attention to fighting Ra, the Sun God. Haruto and Taylor join in as well to stop him. Once they finally knock him out Haruto, Jarred and Taylor want to continue the job but are too drained. Seems and try to retreat, only to be grabbed by the group at the last second, allowing them to escape. After all, they likely wouldn't go in without a way out. The Angels continue their retreat, leaving them their to investigate the now empty church. When they left, Chris picks up an item, a glowing blue orb that. He recognizes it as teleportation tech, highly experimental. Why would anyone use this? Perhaps Alistair perfected it by condensing the tech used in the portal. They can talk to Julian about it later For now, they investigate the church's basement. There they find what looks like a battle plan for....Washington DC? Donald is holding a debate there against. Could it be he's trying to attack the capitol and his own brother? They should hurry back to the warehouse. While there though, they also find something interesting, seems to be Damian's journal. Upon reading it, it seems he was pikcing up on Julian's research. He was more interested though in what made the Mythos Gene rather than how it works. After all, Mythos Users take the forms of Gods and Heroes throughout human history. Could it be connected to the Collective Unconscious? If so, and their theory about Alistair holds true, whatever being created it must hold considerable power When they get back, Julian immediately looks them over. They were gone almost all night. He didn't know what happened to them. Once he calmed down, they explained what had happened to them. Julian was relieved they were safe but concerned about Jayden. He explained that while he doesn't know the details, he's seen that before. Whether due to an overreliance on the Mythos Gene or a distressed mental state, mythos users can lose control. They believe themselves to be their Mythos and forget themselves. This allows them to use the Mythos Gene to its fullest but they lose their memories, interests, personality, basically everything that makes a person who they are. He suggests not using his Mythos for a while. Jayden argues that he needs it in order to fight and Julian simply suggests maybe don't fight Chris agrees as with where they're going, they can't afford for Ra to go rogue. Thinking it was settled, they leave to steal a jet to Washington DC
