The Kentauromachy

Military action

1125α4

The reason nobody invites the half-human, half-horse Kentauros to a wedding anymore, especially when there's an open bar.

At the wedding feast of the Lapith king Pirithous of Thessaly, the Kentauros, unused to wine, became wild and one named Eurytion attempted to abduct the bride. All the other centaurs joined in, attacking women and boys. In the battle that ensued, Theseus came to the Lapiths' aid. They cut off Eurytion's ears and nose and threw him out. In the battle, the Lapith Kaineus was killed, and the defeated Kentauros were expelled from Thessaly to the northwest.
