A love potion. This is what Deianeira thought she was getting from the Centaur NIsson as he lay dying from a poisoned arrow from her husband, Herakles. What he slipped her instead was the poison that ended Herakles's mortal life.

Effect

The recipient is prevented from developing an attachment to the caster's potential rivals. It remains unclear whether the effect is physical or emotional. Either way, the intent is to prevent a participant in an existing relationship from being unfaithful.

Gestures & Ritual

Can be mixed with olive oil and soaked into a cloth that then comes into contact with the intended recipient. Sheets and undergarments work best, such as the khiton given by Deianeira to Herakles with his robes.

Potentially a lifetime, unless the spell is broken.
