Jokaste

Grc: Ἰοκάστη - En: Jocasta

Jokaste was a twice-over queen of Thebai, first married to King Laius, who died in mysterious circumstances far from the city, and then to King Oidipous, who gained the throne after defeating the monstrous Sphinx in a battle of wits and riddles. Jokaste is also the sister of Kreon, and so aunt to Pyrrha.   Jokaste, as queen, is the holder of the Necklace of Harmonia, which endows its possessor with a lifetime of youth and beauty. As old as she gets, she will never appear older than twenty, so she looks younger than her second husband, Oidipous, even though she's probably old enough to be his mother.
