Elf

Known as the race of the arcane, Elves are long-lived races that excelled in magic. Through generations of "perfecting their biology", they learned to defy aging and mortal problems.  

Subraces

High Elves
  • Sun elves: Also called gold elves, sun elves, were hightly civilzed elves with a natural gift for magic
  • Moon elves: Also called silver elves. Some lived a nomadic lifestyle where others tend to live with other races. Moon elves are more friendlier to humans and non elves than other elves.
Elves
  • Wood Elves: Also called copper elves. Wood elves are consider the second strongest in physical strength and tend to live within the forests, with there towns built among the tree branches above the forest floor.
  • Wild elves: Also called green elves; are "fera", reclusive elves who scorned civilization and prefer a close wild existence with nature. Of all the elven races, wild elves are the strongest in physical strength.
  • Drow: A dark-skinned subrace of elves that predominantly live in the Underdark
  • Aquatic elf: An aquatic race of water-breathing elves.
  • Astral Elf: Elves that have been changed by the Astral Plane because of their time spent on the plane and therefore imbued them with a spark of divine energy.
  • Dream Elf: Elves that have evolved within the Dreamscape and infused with dream energy.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Elves are described as elegant looking, being a bit taller than the average person. While they come in many shapes and sizes, most are distinct by their long pointy ears.   What especially stands out is their smooth skin and unnatural hair and eye colours. Few Elves show imperfections on their skin, often compared to marble. As for their eyes and hair, they can have quite a hue of colours, ranging from bright orange to deep purple.

Genetics and Reproduction

Elves reproduce in a similar fashion to most humanoids but have a longer pregnancy. On average, they carry their child around for almost a year. It is common for twins to be born.

Growth Rate & Stages

Elves have a similar life cycle as that of Humans but due to genetic differences, they age much slower.   On average, an Elf is consider an adult at the age of 100 year but can live for about 1,000 years.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Most Elves have some affinity towards magic, sharing some deep understanding of it. Such knowledge grants them an insight with the inner workings of arcana, both with spells and magic items alike.   Genetic enhancements make it so that the Elven body does not fall as deeply asleep as other races. Instead, they remain somewhat aware of their surroundings while asleep. Such trait benefits them especially against enchantments as it makes them hard to mind-control.

Civilization and Culture

Gender Ideals

As they do not have any major differences between sexes. Many Elves are allowed to practice whatever they want. Such freedom also allows for nonbinary or genderfluid to be widely accepted amongst their kind.

Average Technological Level

Scholars agree that Elves are responsible for the roots of modern spellcasting. Their understanding of magic are second to none, with many spells created by them. While most of it is lost during the wars, there is still a plentiful amount of their research left alive even today.

Common Dress Code

Most clothing designed by Elves are in most cases are gender-neutral nature towards them. They tend to be light-weight, with a nature focus designed. Depending on the type of elves, greens, blues, brown, and white are used in designed with silver and golds being added to accessories should an Elf want to show their wealth and power.

Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals

Almost all elves worshiped the gods of the Seldarine, and the elves were generally, though not always, good in nature.
