Lunaria, the Moon of Myrathis

The single moon of Myrathis, is a unique celestial body with a history deeply intertwined with the gods. Following the devastating events of the Shattered War, Somnaria, the Dreamweaver, was left grievously injured in a confrontation with Vorrak, the Destroyer. With her realm of Celestara, having been destroyed in the events of the Great Sundering, Somnaria had no where to return to where she may rest and recover. In response to this tragedy, Gevren, the Forgehammer, Somnaria's lover, forged Lunaria from the remains of a fallen elemental earth titan.
In lifting Lunaria to the sky, Gevren scarred the land beneath, forming the Dust Valley. Lunaria was to serve as a sanctuary for Somnaria to recover and rebuild the Dreamweave. Gevren intended for the moon to remain hidden in the sky to further protect his beloved, but Somnaria, heartbroken over no longer being able to guide the dreams of mortals, enchanted Lunaria to reflect the sun's rays, so she may be a light for mortals in the dark of night.
To this day, Somnaria resides within Lunaria, still mending from the wounds of battle and diligently weaving a new Realm of Dreams.
The Lunaria Calendar is heavily influenced by the phases of Lunaria, with great emphasis placed on the full moon. Many references to Lunaria exist throughout Myrathis, but nowhere more so than Terathis, where the scar of Lunaria's forging remains in the Dust Valley.
